Founded in 1965, the family-run company Ryf SA is Switzerland's leading manufacturer of microscopes and other optical measuring instruments, serving the watchmaking, health, medtec, and industrial sectors. To ensure its continued competence, expertise, and unmatched know-how, the company has always relied on a dedicated team. Each and every one of our staff is committed on a daily basis to keep our customers fully satisfied.

Almost 60 Years of History

Founded in 1965 by Bernhard Ryf, the company has specialized in microscopy since its very beginning. It soon developed its own lighting systems. Until 1993, it continued its expansion, relocating several times to find appropriate premises. In 1999, the family-run company was joined by Daniel Ryf, the current owner and CEO. In 2006, Ryf SA opened a subsidiary in French Switzerland’s Commugny to meet its growing demands. From 2007 onwards, things started to pick up even more momentum. Ryf SA became Switzerland's exclusive authorized reseller and support provider for Nikon's industrial products and implemented the SAP operating system with more than 20,000 items in its inventory. 2009 saw an extension of the scope of maintenance and repair services, while in 2011, the range of Nikon Metrology's three-dimensional measuring equipment was expanded. Owing to the extent and quality of the services offered, Ryf SA could be certified to ISO 9001 in 2015. Environmental certification ISO14001-2015 was added later.

Over the years, the company has continued to grow, becoming a market leader in microscopes and measuring systems. According to the motto “the best solution for you”, the company thinks and operates independently, focusing on long-term solutions. In addition to Comugny/VD (since 2008), it has also been represented in the canton of Zurich for several years, where it also has a branch with a showroom.

Renowned as it is today, Ryf Ltd. has managed to retain its human proportions and proximity to its employees. In a family-like environment, where being close to each other also matters, Daniel Ryf, CEO, knows how important it is to invest in his team. Many of them can boast a long record of service and loyalty to the company, be it in engineering, logistics, sales, or administration.
