Foundation of the company by Bernhard Ryf. Trade in microscopes and optical instruments.
First developments of own lighting systems / Ryf Neon circular lights.
Hans Ryf becomes General Manager and takes over the company five years later.
The firm is converted into a joint stock compagny (AG).
Daniel Ryf, later to become CEO and proprietor, joins his parents' company.
Ryf AG is honoured with the Solothurn Entrepreneur Award (for the first time a small SME).
Acquisition and complete renovation of the "Löwen" building with 1200m2 of usable space from the 16th century.
The year is characterised by the 40th anniversary celebrations.
Opening of the Commugny branch in the canton of Vaud (sales and service)
Ryf AG takes over the exclusive representation of Nikon Metrology Europe in Switzerland/FL. Introduction of the SAP ERP operating system with management of over 20,000 articles.
Expansion of the range of maintenance and repair services. With a team of 10 technicians, Ryf AG is one of the largest European after-sales service providers.
Zeiss distributor for routine microscopes, biological microscopes and material microscopes.
Opening of the first small sales office in Winterthur /ZH
50th anniversary of Ryf AG, market leader in microscopy, imaging and optical measurement systems
ISO 9001-2015 certification SQS (IQNet Certified)
Acquisition and conversion of the "MASS 16" building in Grenchen for our warehouse, mechanical repair workshop and prototype construction
ISO 9001-2015 SQS recertification (IQNet-certified)
New dental microscopes: Ryeco surgical microscopes for dentists and clinics now in the range (exclusively for Switzerland)
Foundation of an official branch in the canton of Zurich of Ryf AG Zurich with demo room in Egg near Uster/ZH
Environmental certificate according to ISO 14001 standard.
Ryf AG's own production unit: Ryf Prototec AG is founded for in-house production with several 3-, 4- and 5-axis milling centres and CNC lathes (additional production area of around 900m2).
Opening of our own fitness centre for employees in Grenchen in our building at Maria Schürer Strasse 16
Acquisition of the Swiss agency for digital CNC measuring projectors from Chotest Technology Inc.
Takeover of the sales representation for clinical microscopes/laboratory and school microscopes for Leica Microsystems AG
